Und dann sitzt man nach zwei Monaten wieder im Flugzeug und schaut aus dem Fenster, wie in den letzten Tagen aus Bussen oder Booten oder Z\u00fcgen. Traumnebel. Die Zeit ist real und vergeht und wird darum immer unwirklicher. Die Orte, die man gesehen hat, all die Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, in denen man gesessen hat und die so wirklich waren, sind jetzt unsichtbar. Nebel. Was haben wir seit Dezember getan? Sterile Hallen und G\u00e4nge, die Luft und sp\u00e4te K\u00e4lte der japanischen Nacht verzerren Erinnerungen und ich wei\u00df nicht, ob ich ein Leben habe oder hundert oder wie viele Personen ich bin, wie viele auf einer Reise hinzukommen oder verloren gehen. Unser Leben treibt uns vor sich her. Wir lassen es geschehen und sind froh.<\/p>\n
Lichter der Stadt fliegen auf uns zu und pl\u00f6tzlich bewegen wir uns zwischen ihnen hindurch und sitzen wieder zwischen heimkehrenden Managern und Gesch\u00e4ftm\u00e4nnern. Bitterer Geruch des Alkohols und blitzende Augen. Alles um uns herum leuchtet und scheint und spricht. Wir sind in unserer Zukunft angekommen und alles, worauf man wartet, ist jetzt. Fast l\u00e4cherlich sch\u00f6n und unsinnig futuristisch zeigen sich die Wolkenkratzer und Highways, und widerspenstig und altmodisch sind die kleinen H\u00e4user und Gassen. Zum ersten Mal denke ich \u00fcber eine Stadt nach und sehe einen Menschen. Oder ein Lebewesen. Mit tausenden Armen und Beinen und einem traurigen Gesicht. All die Menschen haben nichts mit ihr zu tun oder sie nicht mit ihr, und ihre reine Gr\u00f6\u00dfe macht jeden Bezug oder jede Bindung unm\u00f6glich.<\/p>\n
Jeder ist verloren in Tokio, aber niemand ist es alleine.<\/p>\n
And you\u2019re sitting in an airplane again after two months and look out of the window, like in the last days out of busses, boats or trains. Dream mist. Time is real and passes by and therefore becomes more and more unreal. The places that we\u2019ve seen, all the hotels, restaurants, bars where you had sat down and that had been so real, are invisible now. Mist. What have we been doing since December? Sterile halls and corridors, the air and late cold of the Japanese night distort memories and I don\u2019t know whether I have one life or one hundred or how many persons I am, how many are added up or get lost on a journey. Our life drives us in front of it. We let it be and are glad about it.<\/p>\n
Lights of the city fly towards us and suddenly we move beneath them and sit between homecoming managers and businessmen again. Bitter smell of alcohol and flashing eyes. Everything around us is glooming, shining and talking. We have arrived at our future and everything we\u2019re waiting for is now.<\/p>\n
The skyscrapers and highways present themselves almost ridiculously pretty and nonsensically futuristic, and the small houses and narrow streets are intractable and old-fashioned. For the very first time, I\u2019m thinking about a city and see a human being. Or a creature. With thousands of arms and legs and a sad face. All the people have nothing to deal with it or it has nothing to deal with them, and its sheer size makes any kind of relation or any bond impossible.<\/p>\n
