Hanoi war gestern immer noch menschenleer. Alles schwieg uns an und wies uns ab. Verlassene Gesch\u00e4fte und einsame Marktst\u00e4nde im Jahr der Wasserschlange. Nur um den Literaturpalast hatten sich M\u00e4nner und Frauen und Kinder versammelt, um sich eine Geschichte schreiben zu lassen. Der siebte Neujahrstag. Jedermanns Geburtstag, jedoch ohne westliche Tragik, ohne Symbolik, ohne S\u00fchne und ohne Erl\u00f6sung. Ohne Teufel und fast ohne Gott.<\/p>\n

Uralte M\u00e4nner in traditionellen Gew\u00e4ndern sa\u00dfen auf winzigen Schemeln und rauchten und zeichneten alte Linien auf gelbes Papier. Wei\u00dfe d\u00fcnne B\u00e4rte. Tiefe Falten. Eine sehr m\u00e4chtige und weise Aura. Ich stellte mir vor, dass all die Wartenden zu ihnen gekommen sind, um ihr Leben fortschreiben zu lassen. F\u00fcr ein Jahr. Oder das letzte umschreiben zu lassen, sodass keine Erinnerungen mehr bleiben und eigentlich keiner mehr wei\u00df, was \u00fcberhaupt passiert. Wie die Kalligrafen mit dicken Pinseln ganz behutsam und ruhig und mit aller Zeit einen Halbkreis ziehen und sich eine Entscheidung \u00e4ndert und ein Schicksal. Wie vieler Menschen Leben beeinflussen wir? Was sind wir ohne Vergangenheit und wie w\u00fcrde solch eine Geschichte beginnen? \u201eEr stand auf diesem winzigen Platz, beobachtete all die vorbeistr\u00f6hmenden Fremden und wusste nichts. Und wenn dieses Wort auch voller metaphysischer Bedeutung ist, beschreibt es die Situation doch recht treffend: nichts. Jemand hatte ihm eine Geschichte geschrieben, an die er sich nicht mehr erinnerte.\u201c<\/p>\n

Like the calligraphers with thick brushes carefully and calmly, and with all the time in the world, draw a semi circle, and a decision alters, and a life. How many people\u2019s lives do we influence? What are without past and how would such a story begin? \u201cHe was standing on this tiny square, watching all the passing strangers and knew nothing. And even if this word is full of metaphysical meaning, it does describe the situation appropriately: nothing.
