Vacation, or how you call it when you are in a foreign country, the sun shines and the streets are lined with tourists.

Although we’ve found a little paradise already: Krabi, somewhat outside the main touristic areas. We have been here for a few days now and are going to stay a bit longer. Often, I go to the market, drink freshly squeezed juice and try to taste all the local specialities. A feast for half-baked vegetarians like me, a piece of fish is always hidden somewhere, and my Thai isn’t that good either.

Time to reflect is important and necessary. On more uneventful days I therefore sometimes believe to understand correlations. I’m not sure anymore where I had picked up the following phrase, however analogous to Japanese it says: “Flowers bloom in small talk.” The Thai people are very friendly. I believe that the constant warm climate opens the hearts and makes them to inert to fight, instead more communicative, with a smile on their faces; and that’s contagious: Shine from the inside and others will be attracted by the light.

Even though the little break here feels good, and I still could cure my sunburn, again it will soon be time to move on. We don’t need any travel medicine; travelling is our medicine.

[30
