Confessions of an iron fox

Sitze jetzt hier seit einiger Zeit.

I have been sitting here for some time now. Really nice: dark – Night and stars, that’s all you need being a Tokyo cat. However, not everything you want is what you’d like to have: a tail, for example. Not having one isn’t necessarily common looking back to past cultural and sociological experiments. For the sake of mankind, of course. Shuddering to think of ancient torture methods that ought to result in calming the human nature. The distinction of diabolic character traits, the creation of the good human, who is satisfied with himself and the world around him.

The final version to be born in London. The cautionary tale of our generation, exaggeration of our creature that we cannot comply with: White. Kitty White. Also known as Hello Kitty. In her shadow, we stray around the houses at night. With the awareness that we are no idealised pop starlets, we keep acting in the twilight. Always hidden, on the run, chased. And all this because of a little accident, a one of a kind regrettable mishap, which is the reason we are not like all the others: After a long night featuring some wild pyro games, the tail of one of our ancestors caught fire. He ran in panic through the city and set fire to some houses. The Emperor’s decision was clear despite all objections: Snip, snap – off the tail. The failure of an individual became the destiny of our entire species. Cruel. Since then, we are the „kazoku-neko“ – mysterious night creatures of Tokyo.

And again: Not one single minute of rest, you just lie down for a sec and get roused immediately. They found us, but there’s still a chance to escape.
